It was a Saturday that saw a bunch of us meeting up at Indiranagar Metro Station, embarking on one of the participant’s first metro ride to District 6 on a pleasantly warm afternoon. The said person was also extremely late, and apologetic. Her kind friends were forgiving. Braving into station bustling with people and eventually into bogies crammed with more people, the group reached District 6. The agenda – well was to try a promotional menu of Sizzling Bites, and yes lots of beer too!
We started with some of their chilled wine samplers. After the journey this was gulped down quickly, with little observation on taste and other aspects. Radler was their fruity beer with citrus flavor – and the table favorite. I preferred the brew master’s special Lager Strong – crisp and a nice finish. The Sizzler Bites has a pretty interesting line up, looking at various fusion sizzlers inspired from various cuisines. The menu featured Andhra Spiced Mushrooms, Roasted Chili Hoisin Chicken, Jerked Cottage Cheese, Beef Sukka, Jumbo Prawns and more. Each of these were served with complimenting sauces, and were quite distinct in concept.
My favorite was the Coorg Pandi – no surprise there, balanced well in the proportion of meat and fat, and peppery spiced! The Roasted Chili Hoisin Chicken was also beautifully cooked Asian sizzler. The Beef Sukka was succulent and very tasty as well. Each sizzler was cooked just right, and quite enjoyable with beers. We also had a few of the signature dishes from their main menu – like the Dahi Kebab with walnut and mint – we really liked this, the crisp batter giving way to the filling. I would recommend this, even over some of the non vegetarian dishes.
The Sizzler Bites menu at District 6 is available until 30th September. A variety of sizzler options ranging from continental, Asian to various Indian flavors – there’s quite a novelty in the menu. The sizzling brownie is available as well. The pricing for the sizzlers is all ranging between 325 – 395 INR for non vegetarian options. They also have good offers on food and liquor packages, that make it a good hang out for large groups. So check it out people, and cheers!
