Sumptuous meaty food, quick and brisk service and sold out by lunch has always been my experience of military canteens in Bangalore. The food is local, fresh and simple – keeping it a value for money and being wholesome. We were recently sent some food home from Royanna Military Canteen – yes now they are available for home delivery and take away! I personally loved the mutton pulao – a comfort North Karnataka styled dish with succulent meat – a combination you cannot go wrong with! The chicken fry was my pick among the sides, while Tapash clearly liked the Curry Leaf Chicken. It was just right in flavours and aroma. The Chilli Chicken was not a favourite, probably because it had really good competition!

Great food, really great pricing. After we received the food, we had transferred to a set of containers. Then heated the dishes before consuming. Highly recommend the Mutton Pulao and Curry Leaf Chicken. And Tapash insists I mention the rasam – it was nice, hot and tangy. The food came with the rasam, sherwa and raita – all three yum! And even home delivered, the taste and freshness – spot on! Royanna Military Canteen is available for delivery on Swiggy and Zomato, as well as Dunzo.
