Georgia used to be a major supplier of wine to USSR. Well, they still have great wine. And quite inexpensive as well, if bought from supermarkets. Teliani Valley was a brand we tried, and both white wine and red were pretty nice, and easy to have for wine novices like myself. There was Saperavi which was a little strong and semi sweet.
My personal favorite was Mukuzani, which was sweeter, and lighter to drink. You could have an entire bottle nice and easy.
For an early dinner we went to this restaurant on top of a hill called “Under the Shadow of the Metekhi”. A very beautiful view from it’s terrace, though the sun is so dreadfully bright, you may need to sit indoors till it cools down. A good wine menu and good food makes this a very nice place to visit!
In an attempt to try something else, I started checking pizza options nearby, and landed on Ronny’s Pizza website. We ordered in pizza, and were surprised with the true American pizza, with slightly thicker crust that we got!
And on my last evening there, while walking around the old town, we went to this small, not fancy restaurant, the only one who actually gave us an invoice in English.
