Double Tree Suites by Hilton is running the second edition of their Sizzlers & Beer fest – a pairing of popular sizzlers served with a beer. The menu this time around is quite expansive with a host of irresistible options. This promotion is running in both Asia Alive (restaurant) and Equinox (bar) at the Double Tree. We went over for a sneak peek last week, and sat at the Equinox – a beautiful space, comfortable seating and an impressive bar.
The menu this year has the choice of the sizzlers main – from options of meat (lamb/beef), chicken, seafood, vegetarian and mixed grills. The available sauces as well as the various accompaniments are also provided for the diner to select from. The choices for us was simple enough! I opted for the Lamb Chops with Red Wine Jus, potato mash and vegetables on the side. I also got an add on of crispy bacon. The chops were deliciously cooked, just right and the sauce complemented the meat very well. Tapash opted for the Norwegian Salmon with Orange Beurre Blanc with the same sides as me. The fish was nicely made, simple which works quite well for the salmon. The hint of orange zest was a tad too mild for me. Each of the sizzlers included a pint of beer, or a mock-tail based on preference.
Later we did try the Grilled Shrimp Skewers in Herb Lemon Butter with fried eggs and herbed rice. Nicely made, the prawns were succulent and delicious.
Tandoori Pomfret, Double Jack, Tandoori Vegetables and Cottage Cheese Steak are some of the other signature dishes in the sizzlers promotion. I personally recommend the Lamb Chops and Prawns as well. And if you’re unsure of the sauce and sides to select, just ask the chef for his recommendations! This festival is running until 31st August, only for dinner. The
